Rainbow effect: colored hair trend hits the streets; know how to join

Green, blue, red, pink, orange, violet, pastel shades, it doesn't matter. What counts in the wave of colored hair that has dominated the world of famous women is daring. The ways of adopting the colors are also varied, ranging from thin strands to the entire hair, through the ombré style (the one in which the ink is used only at the ends of the hair) and the application of different tones at the same time - in a real rainbow effect. Celebrities with colored hair, especially in the musical world, aren't exactly new (pop diva Rihanna, for example, lived her red hair phase in 2010). But recently, there was a kind of “boom” among teen celebrities that ended up going beyond age barriers and reaching women with a common characteristic: the attitude of those who like to have fun and play with trends and fads. Although today there are supermodern and safe products on the market to achieve this type of effect (who ever tried to color their tresses with crepe paper in adolescence?), hairstylist Sergio Gomes, from Studio W, warns: it's not just any hair that can face the procedure. “Since it is necessary to discolor the hairs in the highest shade before applying the pigment, it is important to carry out an evaluation with a professional to see if they are healthy enough to face the chemistry and achieve the desired effect”, he says. "It is not recommended to color very fine hair, with a progressive brush or relaxation, for example." Another important point to be considered before transforming the look, according to Gomes, is that the vibrant color has a short shelf life. “It is necessary to touch up the pigment every week or every ten days at the most, because the color fades quickly and what used to be pink can end up turning into sausage water”, explains the hairstylist. But, don't be discouraged! For those who want to join the wave without facing any chemistry, Gomes reveals a smart tip: apply locks in the desired color and style. "I recommend it to many clients because the appliqué is a safer possibility, it has a good fixation (usually made with a silicone adhesive tape) and good cost-benefit - a lock costs R$ 50 or R$ 60 depending on the salon." Another alternative on the market is the temporary coloring that does not involve the discoloration of the threads. An example of this type of product is L'Oréal's Hairchalk, which has six vibrant shades, can be used by both blondes and brunettes and can be applied at home or in the salon. Its effect lasts from two to four washes, depending on the amount of product applied and also on the type of hair. To know more click the button below.
